About Le Maison de Jardin
Le Maison de Jardin is a striking foursquare built in 1923. This charming property is also fondly referred to as The Garden House. These inviting apartments boast hardwood floors throughout, deep claw foot bathtubs, and ample storage space. Most kitchens include built-in benches and dining tables, well restored vintage cabinets and farmhouse sinks. Down to the smallest details, apartment finishes are consistent with the elegant and classic architecture of the building.
Hawthorne Boulevard, the southern border of the Buckman neighborhood, is just a block from Le Maison de Jardin. Buckman is a diverse neighborhood with a comfortable, down-to-earth atmosphere. There are many excellent coffee shops and cafes within a few blocks. Coava & Oui Presse are some of our favorite local coffee spots, and you can sample the best of local food carts at Cartopia & the Hawthorne Asylum. Brick and Mortar restaurants like Blackbird Pizza, Little Big Burger, Jam, and Castagna are just a few of the option’s you’ll have. Shops like Excalibur Comics, Vintage Pink, and Enjoy Co. are met by grocers like Safeway and Talarico’s Produce.
This neighborhood has it all for someone who is looking for a dynamic, artistic, deep-rooted neighborhood to call home. Colonel Summers Park is only a few blocks away, where you can play a game of tennis, contribute to the community garden, or join a recreation team for a game of baseball or kickball. The lesser known Ladd Circle Park is a tiny park in the center of Ladd’s Addition that is hidden between manicured rose bushes for a private retreat. For indoor entertainment you can head to Cinemagic for a film or Helium Comedy Club for a live show.
This close-in location provides easy access to just about anywhere in Portland. There are several bike corridors running through the neighborhood, and access to public transportation is a breeze with bus stops 10, 14, and 15. Downtown is just 10 minutes away via the Morrison or Hawthorne bridge. This spot in the Buckman neighborhood abuts the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood, and is also near Kerns.
