About Azalea Terrace
Azalea Terrace is nestled in between SE Hawthorne & Belmont Streets in the Buckman Neighborhood, just steps away from fabulous boutiques, local shops & restaurants! South-East Portland has its fair share of charm, quiet streets host restored Victorians, craftsmen style homes, and pre-war apartment buildings. This two-story, 1966 mid-century modern gem has been totally renovated inside and out! There are just eight newly remodeled 2-bedroom apartment homes and two one-bedroom units. Each unit has its own individual entry and laundry facilities are available on site. Come and enjoy all Azalea Terrace has to offer!
A true “Foodie’s Paradise,” in the Buckman neighborhood you can try a new place every day and never run out of options. Bare Bones Bar is the nearest watering hole on SE Belmont, where you can also find eats like the Cricket Café, and Pad Thai Kitchen. On Hawthorne favorites are Gold Dust Meridian, Jam, and Harlow. Running along SE 28th avenue you’ll find a dense collection of restaurants like Bamboo Sushi, Paa Dee, and Cheese & Crack. Grocery stores include Safeway, only 4 blocks away, Whole Foods, and Fred Meyer.
One of the wonderful things about Portland is that there are over 150 parks throughout the city, integrated into neighborhoods for residents to enjoy. Azalea Terrace happens to be in one of the luckiest spots. To the east, there is Laurelhurst Park, a large and beautiful oasis, and to the West there is Colonel Summers Park, a smaller but sunnier spot that has a great lawn, tennis courts, baseball field, and a covered picnic area. Sewallcrest Park is to the South, and Lone Fir Cemetery to the North. For indoor entertainment you can cut a rug at the GoodFoot, catch a flick at the Laurelhurst Theater, enjoy a live production at Imago Theater, see a standup act at Helium Comedy, or take-in a concert Revolution Hall.
Azalea Terrace has a Walk Score of 92 out of 100. This location is a walker's paradise so daily errands do not require a car. There are bike corridors in the neighborhood, and bus lines 14, 15, & 20 serve the building. Downtown Portland is just over the Hawthorne and Morrison Bridges, less than a 10-minute drive away. The Buckman neighborhood is a wonderful location; not only is it one of the most unique and popular areas in Southeast Portland it is also near some of Portland’s other fun and funky neighborhoods, including Kerns, Laurelhurst, and Hosford-Abernethy.
